Gearbox Oil Seal

Is there a trick to removing the rear gearbox oil seal?

I have the flange off and the gearbox is still in the car, with a small amount of room to work in just before the transmission tunnel.

I have seen other sites say that it can be pried out with a screwdriver. There is no way!
