CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocates are trained to speak up for children in the DC Foster Care system. CASAs are appointed by a judge to represent the best interest of a foster care child or youth. CASAs gather information about each young person's situation, submit court reports, make recommendations, and provide the court with valuable insight into the young person's life. CASAs dedicate a minimum of 10-15 hours per month to their case for at least one year. CASAs attend hearings (held during daytime, working hours) with their young person once every 3-4 months but the remainder of the CASA work can be done during weeknights and weekends.

Thank you so much for wanting to make a difference in the life of a young person!

If you are interested in learning more about advocating for an amazing child in foster care, please contact CASA DC today. You will be changing two lives forever.
