The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film based on the world of Super Mario Bros., and follows The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide. In the new film, Mario and Luigi – along with their new family of friends – explore cosmic worlds and tackle galactic challenges far from the familiar Mushroom Kingdom. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is produced by Chris Meledandri of Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo. The film is directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, with a screenplay by Matthew Fogel.

The Alex Film Society (AFS) returns to Glendale's historic Alex Theatre with a new edition of The Greatest Cartoons Ever!, presented in association with EVNSONG. Hosted by AFS Board Member Frank Gladstone, the show will feature tributes to directors from the Golden Age of Hollywood animation – Tex Avery, Chuck Jones, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, Friz Freleng, Dave Fleischer, and more. You'll see many of your favorite cartoon characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Popeye & Olive Oyl, Woody Woodpecker, Tom & Jerry, Droopy, and Yosemite Sam on the big Alex Theatre screen as they were originally intended, filled with laughter and fun the entire family can share.
