Saturday, October 25th, 2025 from 3 pm to 4 pm in Room 211
Editing an animated film offers the distinct advantage of cutting the movie with the film’s director before it's shot. Editors work with storyboards and temporary dialogue to craft and re-craft the story across many iterations before it gets locked and moves forward into production. Meet some of the magicians who help bring your favorite animated features to life! Panelists include Bret Marnell, ACE (Ultraman: Rising), Nathan Schauf (K-Pop Demon Hunters), Darren T. Holmes, ACE (How To Train Your Dragon) and Maurissa Horwitz, ACE (Inside Out 2) |

Triple-Oscar-winning, world-renowned animator Richard Williams’s legendary career in the world of animation is brought to the page for the first time.
Written with his wife and collaborator, Imogen Sutton, Adventures in Animation follows the life of this pivotal figure in animated features. Williams’ place in animation history is assured: he directed the Academy Award-winning 1971 adaptation of A Christmas Carol and worked as Director of Animation on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, for which he won two Academy Awards.
Williams’ first book, The Animator’s Survival Kit, saw him pass on his hard-won craft to future generations of animators. In Adventures in Animation, the story of the man behind the images will inspire them all over again.

SHORT FILM OF THE MONTH: HAVE I SWALLOWED YOUR DREAMS |
|
Rated G "This is a fictional story inspired by my family’s immigration journey. It is a poetic conversation first told from the point of view of the daughter, feeling guilty that she has swallowed her mother’s dreams, and then the surprising point of view of her mother. 2D animation is the perfect medium because it lets me tell this story in an imaginative and visually interesting way. I believe this film will light a spark for one to reflect on their relationships with their loved ones. Also, by sharing one immigrant family’s experience, I hope to create room for empathy and understanding amongst people." - Director Clara Chan
