To whoever is planning the kite festival, please note this information regarding YG's plan this year.  The new board may or may not decide to tie-up with them, but just so you know what is happening to the probable venue.

FYI.

Dear JAA Board,

YG PTO contacted me that they plan to do a Children's Day Festival May 2nd (Saturday) at YG and asking JAA to collaborate in putting this event together.
It's an all day event and the time they are thinking is 10 am to 6 pm.
They would have games, craft making, entertainment, food, community info booths etc.
They are also contacting the Asian Council to partner to do the Kite Festival included in this festival.
Please discuss this and decide how much you want to participate in this event and what to do about the regular May Potluck and Board Meeting.
I have given James contact information, so they will be in touch.
If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you.

Mike

I've already met with the YG PTO, David Tam and Mike Takahashi to discuss the plans to combine their Children's Day with the Kite Festival. If you notice on the agenda under "Upcoming Events" the dates for both are on the same date. I was planning on it bringing up to the board at the meeting on Monday to get approval to combine the two.

Respectfully,

I think that this a great idea.  When I was president with APISU LCC I provided activities with the kite festival for Children's day.  This was my first interactions with the Asian Council back when MiMi was President.  I am very excited that this is happening and the expansion of the Kite Festival is a marvelous idea!
