Hello everyone!

In behalf of The Climate Reality Project Philippines, I present to you the 2015 Philippine Youth Statement on Climate Change. As part of our local Road to Paris campaign, we had student leaders from Manila and Luzon draft this document last September 1 and spent until November travelling this statement gathering input from other youths based and hailing from around the country. Writing this, we emphasize that our country is one of the most vulnerable nations to climate change and that it is our moral imperative to highlight the human rights approach to the negotiations, taking into consideration the plight of women, children, youth, indigenous groups, people with disabilities and marginalized communities who are rendered twice vulnerable by disastrous climate impacts. We will also be presenting this paper to our negotiators, heads of government agencies and Mr. Al Gore, retaining faith that through this, the Filipino youth will be properly represented in the Climate Talks.

Thank you!

In 2006, Nobel Laureate and former U.S. Vice President Al Gore got the world talking about climate change with the Academy Award-winning film An Inconvenient Truth. It was just the beginning of a climate revolution, and later that year, he founded The Climate Reality Project to take the conversation forward and turn awareness into action.

The Climate Reality Project is a diverse group of passionate individuals who have come together to help solve the greatest challenge of our time. We are cultural leaders, marketers, organizers, scientists, storytellers and more, and we are committed to building a better future together.
