Dear all,

I'm Kaori Shiohara from the youth NGO Climate Youth Japan.

I'm writing this email to share the suggestion by Steve Harrison from Indonesia; contrubituing our work to book proposals led by the knowledge community called
"The Climate Change: Impacts & Responses Knowledge Community".

I believe this would be a great opportunity for Asian Youths to collect our wisdom!

If you're interested, I hope we could continue discussion on the following Facebook for Asian youth; https://www.facebook.com/groups/210030612509329/

I'm looking forward to hearing from you,

Kaori

Dear AYCN colleagues,

Greeting from Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago.

I am Steve.
I already posted in our FB Group two weeks ago
about the opportunity to arrange one book.
The book planned to consisting high quality articles
which written by highly-committed AYCN members.

Description mentioned in the website to submit book proposal, as following:

Books should be between 30,000 words and 150,000 words in length. They
are published simultaneously in print and electronic formats. To
publish a book, either send us a proposal including:

- Title
- Author(s)/editor(s)
- Back-cover blurb
- Table of contents
- Author bionote(s)
- Any marketing or promotional ideas you might have
- Intended audience and a brief description of the broader
significance of the work
- Sample chapters or completed manuscript

The grand theme in my mind for the book is
about youth and climate change in contemporary Asia.
Also, I think that 50,000 words is good enough for our book proposal,
not a short story but also not a long one, it is average and ideal.
It would be made up around 8-10 writers and then being compiled.
So, I hope that we could determine the next level for this 'project'.

Feel free to share your ideas, suggestions, recommendations, etc.

Thanks and best regards,

Hi, Steve

Thank you for suggesting this great opportunity.
It's good that "Youth and climate change in contemporary Asia" is our theme.
I agree with Liangyi's opinion, then think that we should collect writers from various countries in Asia at first.

We need to enhance writer's diversity in terms of geography because Asia is a wide region.
AYCN member are mainly consisted of youths from Southeast Asia, East Asia, and South Asia.
It's ideal that  at least one person from each area will be a writer.

CYJ is ready for it.
Are there any other person/organizations who will participate in this project?

Regards,

Nagisa (Climate Youth Japan)

Dear Steve,
Nice to see your initiative and we feel it could bring a new thought for youths in Asia to explore their works and voice.I would like get on the board :)
If you find my idea is suitable then I would like to propose that YPARD (Young Professionals for Agricultural Development) could be a resource for me to connect the youths in this network not only in Bangladesh but also in other countries in Asia. I am a member of this network as well as country representative. I appreciate what Yoshioka said. I hope other youths will respond to this call if AYCN agrees that I can send a announcement to our Regional representative. In that case we need an announcement which will include the guideline as well as timeline. Let other express their opinion and count it how many we had. I would request you to fix a date by whom interested authors would respond to this call in the AYCN.
Thanking you again.
