Dear API members and friends,
Hope this email finds your summer productive and
enjoyable, as well as a good start with the new semester.
I am writing to invite you to the 2012 Annual Meeting of
APISWEA (Asian Pacific Islander Social Work Educator
Association), an independent professional organization
affiliated with CSWE of the U.S. The meeting is scheduled
for
November 9, 2012 (12noon to 1:30pm) at the
Washington Hilton Hotel (Piscataway Room), the
Conference Hotel of the 58th CSWE APM. Please mark your
calendar.
We have had another productive year of 2011-12. In
addition to having co-sponsored a successful
API-International Conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, (June,
9-11), more than 100 participants from 11 countries
attended the conference including 26 API members; we have
also secured funding to start our very first scholarship
and mentoring program for the API Junior social work
faculty members and doctoral students. In this year API
meeting, we will officially announce the Okura Scholarship
and our first two recipients. We hope to see you, and
many of your API friends, at the meeting. Please make your
best efforts to attend. Together, we will help our
community grow bigger and stronger.
Feel free to send us announcements of important API events
or to be included on the meeting agenda. I look forward
to meeting all of you in Washington D.C. in November 9th.
Warmest regards,
Yuhwa Eva Lu, PhD
President of APISWEA
