Hope all is well with you guys.
Further to our discussion on Research in Bangkok during the DELTA TOT, as
promised, here I am sharing with you an example of a research brief
attached that was prepared by programmers from PSI/Nepal.
As Yogesh had mentioned, a Research Planning meeting was held between
PSI/Nepal Research and WHP unit to discuss the 2011 studies. In this
regard, here is what we basically did:
Step 1: Scanned through the WHP Logframe & Workplan 2011-12 activities and
assessed WHP priorities as per Donors mandate for 2011-12
Step 2: Identified information gaps and proposed research studies against
programs needs in areas which could help develop our program strategies
for the next two years
Step 3: Prepared a short and precise brief which basically highlighted the
topic for each study, thorough background of the related program, the need
for research on the selected topic, the objective behind the study needed
including type of information programmers are trying to find and how
programmers will use this information received.
Step 4: Held a two days meeting with Research unit and Regional Technical
Advisor during which the briefs were shared and thoroughly discussed each
topic with them
Step 5: Developed Research Plan along with timelines for each study to be
conducted
Hope this will prove useful in your country platform resulting in better
co-ordination with the Research unit so as to better understand program
needs to identify studies accordingly.
Cheers!

SInce Social Cast (not a popular option, I know) does store things permanently and since others outside the Asia/EE group may also benefit from this - would you mind also posting it there? The email message and the example? I am sure others would appreciate it.

I trust you all are keeping busy and doing well :). It was great seeing many
of you during the June Asia Retreat. Not so much from my front, I've been
enjoying my restful period, traveling around Thailand and had a great fun
vacation in Europe last month - - Life is GREAT and suggest you all to take
a REAL break, it's so worth it!
Now I just completed my text version of what we shared during our DELTA TOT
in BKK and thought I want to share my lessons learned with all of you as
marketing pioneers in PSI. I hope it will somewhat be a good learning piece
especially in a context where condom market is so competitive and how do we
find the niche market to make the market interesting enough for private
sector to eye on us.
Do keep in touch and all the best to all of you.
