Nice article on TV media (and planning media, in general).
Some important highlights:
* Advertising works in 2 ways:
1) Over long term to build your brand
2) Over short term to immediately stimulate sales
* Big bursts of TV advertising may be important, e.g., when launching a new product, but a continued heavy media presence may have a diminishing return, at least in the short term.
-- This is because TV ads stimulate sales beginning with the first ad and less so with each subsequent ad (though it can continue to build your longer term brand equity)
* Therefore, if it’s not a launch, (or if it’s the sustaining period after the launch) spread out your campaign over a longer period of time at lower / more cost-efficient levels to stimulate sales.
* However, reach is critical in building long term brand equity. So be clear about the purpose of your campaign – is it short term sales or longer term brand building? To manage your notification settings visit your settings page.

Hi Sanjay,
I did receive some of your e-mails.
Sorry for my late response. We are overloaded and under e-mail bombardment during this holiday period.
I attached an interesting analysis for everyone’s interest.
One thing, your address didn’t appear for Reply To All response and I had to add it separately. You better check again.
Best,
