At the largest Sahaj Samadhi course ever (written by Vidyut Udaiver, Sri Lanka)
The story of Michael in Sri Lanka is really interesting.
A student of `A` level (equivalent of Indian 12th standard) and his exams coming up soon. Butterflies in his stomach, lack of concentration, panic attacks and his parents` pressure to perform. Who can’t place oneself in Michael’s shoes?

He happened to see an advertisement in the newspaper announcing the Art of Living`s Sahaj Samadhi meditation.
Relaxation and cooling the mind was what Michael was looking out for. But he did not feel meditation as the `in` thing to do and the `cool` place to be. Nevertheless he felt it was necessary at a crucial time, his upcoming `A` level exams.

Moreover, little did Michael realize that he was also going to be part of the largest Sahaj Samadhi Meditation program ever held.

Reminiscing today in a relaxed and light mood after completion of the Sahaj course Michael says “It is so refreshing. I wish I had done the Sahaj meditation ages back. I thought meditation was only for elderly people! ”. Learning to put the past behind him he is now on a high performance track. His friends are waiting to do the next Sahaj Samadhi course in August.

Two weeks back , just like Michael, several hundred students, youth and the stressed – out lined up to learn the sacred Sahaj Samadhi meditation in various parts of Sri Lanka. Over 1800 people attended the Sahaj Samadhi Meditation courses held in Kandy, Colombo, Batticaloa and Trincomalee. Batticaloa had 787 participants and Trincomali had 652 participants!!

Swami Sadyojathaji, senior Art of Living Teacher and International Director in his ever-smiling and relaxed mood sat over several hours without even a water break to deliver the sacred Sahaj mantra individually to the hundreds who lined-up at the various venues. One had to be there to see Swamiji`s dedication, precision and the ease with which knowledge was transferred.

Now, what makes Michael special is his new discovery that meditation is life -supporting. That meditation relaxes. That meditation is beyond religion and rituals. It has also changed his attitude that meditation is an old-fashioned thing that I do after retirement. Michael quipped at the satsang last night “ Sahaj meditation is the only hope for the `hip-hop` mind of students and youth’’
