Hello

As many of you are flying in to London Heathrow over the next week or
so, I thought it might be useful to offer some advice on the best way
to reach Berkhamsted when you land.

Taxi - not advisable unless you can pre-book in advance, as the fare
could cost as much as £75. There are a couple of local taxi companies
that we know have offered a good rate in the past if you arrange the
pick up in advance:

Choice Taxis: +44 (0)1442 875100
Star Taxis: +44 (001442 253535 (£40-£45 if pre-booked)

Train - take the Heathrow Express (runs every 15 minutes) to London
Paddington station http://www.heathrowexpress.com/Home
From Paddington station you can either take the Underground to Euston
station, or if you have too much luggage to carry a long distance / up
and down stairs, it should not be too far to take a taxi.
From Euston railway station, there is a direct train line to
Berkhamsted (usually takes around 30 minutes and runs every 30 minutes
during the week).

Hope this is helpful. Please feel free to contact Jackie or me should
you have any further questions regarding transportation.

Best wishes
Rebecca

LOL.  Heathrow Express is for the rich people ;-)   Heathrow Connect runs on the same route a little less frequently but at a fraction of the cost:

£16.50    Heathrow Express (bought online)
£18.00    Heathrow Express (bought at machine)
£23.00    Heathrow Express (bought onboard)
£  7.90    Heathrow Connect

Hey all,

about 3cm fresh snow this Morning, so Berko is again white covered.

Another possibility is to us the Greenline Bus from LHR to Watford Junction and change there to a LondonMidland Train. The Bus runs hourly (schedule attached). It takes about 30 minutes longer, but you save some money, haven't got to change twice and avoid the Tube.

If you buy it at a LondonMidland Station there is a AirRail-Ticket from Berko for just 12,xx GBP. The bus fare is 7 GBP from LHR to Watford Junction, only a few stations before Berkhamsted.

Oh, and you should only use the bus option during good weather conditions. *lol*

Take care!
