Hey guys, how are you? Just wanted to start a thread to discuss your
plans and progress regarding finding roomies and houses. Any luck yet!

Since, I am starting the topic, I might as well start first.

I am still without a confirmed roomie! Have spoken to a few people,
but they need more time to sort out stuff or consider the offer. Don't
want to take names without asking them, but they are free to volunteer
if they wish.

With only 27 days left, I am getting a little edgy about the move
(more than I was before :)).

Lookng forward to hearing from you on this,

Ravi.

Hello all!

I wanted to let you know that I will not be able to attend Ashridge in 2010.  As hard as Ashridge and I have tried to get everything ready, the school will not receive Title IV status in time for me to apply for my loan and visa.  I am saddened that I will not get to spend next year with you all.

In the meantime, I plan to take a job in Phoenix and do everything possible to attend Ashridge in 2011.  Ashridge is working dilligently to make sure future students from the US can attend, and I plan to be one of them.  Please keep me informed of your adventures and keep me as a friend on Facebook.

Thank you and good luck!

OMG that's terrible news *hugs*.  I'm really sorry to hear that.  Great to hear you sounding so positive about it all.  Good luck with the job hunt, and with getting through next year's red tape.  Let us know how things go.

Is this the case with all US students this time? What about Stephanie and Jasleen? Girls, any update from you?

Lawren, we'll keep up with each other on FB often. Don't worry, things will work out.

All the best and take care,

Hi Lawren,

So sorry to hear that... I was still hopeful that some miracle would land you in Ashridge with us.. Is there no other alternative to the status IV?? I am sure you would have explored that aspect, however its difficult to fathom the exit of one of the first members in this group.

Look forward to meet you at least on an event at Ashridge, to which we will invite you..

Good luck..

Lawren ... just sent you a msg on FB. It's unfortunate that you
cannot make it to the program this year .. but I hope everything works
out for you and you can attend in 2011.

Ravi, as for my Visa ... I don't have one yet. I'm applying soon ...
had some issues with documentation. I'm praying day and night that I
don't have to pull out. I talked to Rebecca and she said the most I
can miss is 2-3 days of classes (in case my visa is delayed and I fly
out late). I hope everything works out because I am really looking
forward to attending Ashridge.

I have put a hold on my plans to get a roommate as of now ... until my
visa is confirmed.

Regards,
Jas

It is so sad that you can't come to Ashridge next year.
I do not know what I can say but we will do whatever we can help you to come here a year .
I think that your extra one year to work with MBA in mind should be positive experience for your prospective MBA days in Ashridge, where the experience lays as crutucak part of learning.  Also knowing previous years students can help you a lot when you come.  I knew four current people in school and got a lot of support for settling down.  Practically, I've got 2 TVs, two micro waves, two printers and so on.  It will be your turn to ours the year next.

Keep in touch and update your states please

Guys, now we all know where we can go to cook our food (if we get an unfurnished apt.). Masato has two of everything... :)

That's the advantage of going early. By the time most of us reach there, we'd probably just get scraps... like run-down broken lawn chairs and stuff. :)

Lawren, but what Masato said is right! You have more advantages (at work and then at school). Look at it this way, atleast now you have 12 more months to save more money if nothing else. :)
