Subject: Memo to CTTC Chairs

Dear CTTC Chairs,

As we are now approaching the end of another ASHRAE society year, it is time to plan a smooth transition of responsibilities so that Chapter Technical activities continue unhindered. I would like to suggest that you concentrate on following:

1.      Help your Chapter leadership identify others to help with CTTC next year.

2.      Brief your successors on potential Chapter programs and activities, potential speaker contacts, Technology Award candidates, etc.

3.      Share the enclosed “What is the Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC)?” document to help them understand the scope of CTTC.

4.      Prepare a briefing document on CTTC activities, successes, shortcomings, etc. over the past year and future plans.

5.      Strongly encourage him/her to attend CRC.

As a task for yourself, please make a hard push to promote ASHRAE’s Free April 19, 2012 WebCast “Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems: A Path to Balancing Energy and IEQ” to groups and associations outside of ASHRAE.  Let them know everyone must register in advance to view the webcast and it will also be available to view as an archived file until early May.  Go to http://www.ashrae.org/membership--conferences/webcasts for details.

If your Chapter has hosted a DL presentation, make sure the Program Evaluations for the DL visit have been submitted to ASHRAE.  If evaluation forms weren’t distributed during the DL presentation, email them to attendees.  These evaluations matter – they help the DL program administrators to assess DL performance, thus ensuring program quality.

Please try to update your Chapter’s CTTC PAOE table monthly.  Keep a written record of specific activities for which PAOE points are claimed.

Promote the use of ASHRAE standards in local codes development.  Consistent application of standards across jurisdiction makes our jobs as designers easier while ensuring better and more consistent building and system performance.

Any feedback and suggestions you can offer are much appreciated.

Best regards

Ashish Rakheja
