Hi ABC'ers. I'll be sending an update soon about the club's new riding season (our 14th!) that begins on February 1 but, for now, I wanted to notify you about an urgent volunteer opportunity that many of our riders have volunteered for in the past. This can be a really fun volunteer experience especially if you sign up with a friend or two from ABC. Plus, you get a very cool official BAA Marathon jacket. Please contact Lonny (see email below) for details.
The following was received this morning from one of ABC's ride leaders, Lonny Townley:
I am quickly trying to recruit volunteers for the 2026 BAA
Marathon on April 20. Right now, I have 14 positions available
for volunteers who would help to staff the Professional Athlete
Fluid Distribution stations located at the 5K, 10K and 15K
marks along the Marathon course. The work involves helping to
set up the fluid distribution station, helping to distribute
fluid to the professional marathon runners and then cleaning up.
All volunteers receive an official volunteer jacket.
Do you think that you could send an email to members of the
Ashland Bike Club to find out whether there is any interest in
participating among the group? I have only about one week to
fill these positions. So, If anyone is interested, he or
she should send an email to me at lonnyf...@netzero.net
as soon as possible. I'll give instructions to any volunteers
about how to register as a volunteer with the Boston Athletic
Association. First come, first served.
Thanks,
Lonny
