The forecast looks great for riding with temps between 78 and 82
degrees,
partly cloudy skies, and a light breeze.
There’s a chance of rain on Wednesday night but that
shouldn’t affect
our ride.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, stay tuned … There’s a chance of rain in the morning so we’ll keep watching this.
The
Ride
This
ride always gets
extremely positive feedback, but you’re going to have to earn
all the great
views with a bit of hill climbing. The route
is kind of a roller-coaster although most of the hills aren’t
too bad.
Wednesday’s route takes us past the mansions of
Southborough. Overall,
the ride is fairly short by ABC
standards, but it still provides a challenging workout.
Southborough is a very quaint town with lots of forested areas and lots of beautifully landscaped properties. Many of the roads have a definite country feel to them.
If you’re still hungry after stopping at Uhlman’s for ice cream, a post-ride lunch is a possibility. I’m in if you are!!

Mandatory
Breathalyzer
Tests?
A new Colorado law requires
police to
“offer” a breathalyzer test to all drivers involved in serious
crashes. Would
you like to see this law in Massachusetts?
Read the article: https://road.cc/news/american-cyclists-death-sparks-law-change-mandating-police-to-offer-a-breathalyser-test-to-all-drivers-involved-in-serious-collisions
While we’re “regulating”, some states have required drivers who speed to have speed-control devices put into their cars hoping to cut down on repeat offenders. Do you think these should be mandatory in all cars? In the US, 40,000 people die every single year in car crashes. Many of these accidents involve excessive speed. Would you support this or do you think it’s too intrusive?
Toronto
police –
justified or excessive force?
Watching this really got me
angry.
Whether the cyclist did something wrong or not, this is a very
clear-cut case
of police violence. I saw the original video.
It did not seem clear to me that the police officer
told the cyclist to
stop. He seemed to be
directing him from
the bike lane to the roadway.
Regardless, they gave the guy a concussion for
allegedly running a stop
sign.
Someone is going to get sued.

See you soon.
