Hi all,

I have a friend with a 2.5” Seagate hard disk that beeps when powered on, with no spinning of platters. As far as I can tell, this means either that it is not receiving enough power (probably not this one- I’ve tested with SATA adapters that definitely work) or that the heads have frozen. Either will require a data recovery company to perform surgery. I was hoping that someone on the list may have a recommendation, rather than throwing a dart out in the ether. Thanks in advance!

I never got around to actually using them, but drivesavers.com is who I
was ready to use back in the 90s, and they're still in business.
