ARFC  - Asheville Rugby Football Club
Announces the start of the Spring Matrix Season

I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and time off.  We had a great Fall Season that included a season end game with the ladies and a blowout winter party downtown.

We need everyone's participation and help in order to make 2011 the best rugby year ever.  We are looking to have several games home and away, Intense practices and training, as well as great after parties and celebration with both teams.  A Division III title over Triad would be great too!  The entire Spring schedule wiill be rolled out later this week.

With the mens first game at home on January 29 against St Andrews just around the corner, it is urgent that we come out and practice and every night.

We have adjusted this first week practice because of bad weather and hope to resume a regular practice schedule next week.

We wiill start the season strong

Saturday Rugby  1/15 2-5pm at Memorial Field    ***  Folllowed by dinner and beers

Attached is the spring/summer schedule for the Asheville Rugby Football Club- Mens club.  Many of the events, socials, and summer activities are for both teams, but a separate game schedule will be sent out for the ladies team.

Because of the limited space, the 7pm meeting tonight Thursday 1/13 at Charlotte City Bakery will be geared toward the Men's team.  A separate rally meeting will be set up next week for the women's team.

I have gotten a lot of positive response and many people are eager to start training again.  It is important that we practice and train as much as possible before the start of the season.  We need everyone's help to prepare.

The Practice schedule this weekend was set due to the bad weather.  We hope to be on a regular practice schedule next week, but if bad weather continues, we may have another weekend practice.  Please participate and get ready for a great season.

Practice Friday night 7-9pm (followed by beers)
Practice Saturday 2-5pm (followed by dinner and beers)

Practice times next week may change so keep in touch with your captains and continue to check the website.

Please contact the captains to notify them of your status.

I have also attached our by laws , code of conduct, and schedule of the entire matrix.  We can take them all down if we come together as a team.

Be a part of the team
Cheers

Friday Nights Practice 1/14 has been canceled due to ice and snow.

The Club will be still meeting at 2-5pm on Saturday 1/15 for training.  Please bring your running shoes in addition to your cleats.

With the obvious bad weather, it is important everyone make themselves available to practice when possible.  Practice next week may be limited.  Please Clear your schedules for next Friday and Saturday practice again, in case the bad weather continues.  I will continue to keep you updated with new information as it becomes available.

Please begin to contact you mates and start training on your own.
Run a mile
go to the gym
start doing 100 push ups and 100 sit ups everyday

cheers,
