Heads up all,

The board ordered a couple of PCs to replace the slow & aging laptops that we've been using for both the laser cutter & 3d printers. They arrived last week, and we began setting them up last night.

The laser cutter PC is already set up and in place. I copied the contents of the MyDocuments folder from the laptop over to the PC, but just in case you had any files on it that were elsewhere, or need anything else off of it, the laptop will be sitting on the laser cutter desk. If no one else does it beforehand, I will do the same thing for the computer that sits near the Taz next week.

If there are any problems, or you need additional software installed on one of the computers, let me (or any board member) know. Should be a pretty easy transition, but feel free to contact me if you run into any issues.

Lastly, I was thinking about setting up the lasers on the wifi network again. Last time I did this, someone disassembled / unplugged things for unknown (to me) reasons, and we reverted to using USB again. Setting them up on the network means that no swapping of USB cables will be necessary, and I am happy to provide instructions / show people how to set up lightburn on their personal laptops to use the networked lasers. This probably won't happen for a few weeks, but let me know if you have questions/concerns, and I'll do my best to address them.

Thanks,
Avi

Thanks Avi! I'd love to see the lasers back on the network.

Hi, would anyone know where to find metal discards like in the photo?  I'm replacing a small rotten wood fence section and love the look of these.  Thanks!

I find them at the metal scrap yard in Biltmore (near corner of Biltmore/Meadows) often, although they can be pricy and you pay for them by the pound. I'm also planning on building/welding a scrap metal fence so I've collected a couple of similar sheets for a base!
