Hi all,

Attached is the Directory sign that Jenny Fares has designed for us. I want to make sure that you all look at this and review it for your information and make sure that it reads the way you want it to. Please copy her on any edits you may have here.

Jenny, will you also leave a spot for #22?

Thanks,

I'm curious why everything has to be a "lab" but other than that it looks fine to me.

As a graphic designer, the overly wide kerning is really bothering me, and I agree with Zak, it's weird that everything is a lab. But it's pretty much fine

I wasn't going to mention the kerning but yeh... what's up with the kerning? http://xkcd.com/1015/

Looks OK--too bad they can't put our logo on.

Yeah, my preference would be for it to just say "Asheville Makers (Inc?)" and "Makerspace" in small text, or vice versa, but I'm also not going to fight about it.

As an aside, does anyone now what the "tool library" is? Because I don't think it's associated with the Asheville Tool Library... is this a room with tools in it for all to use? If so, that would be good to know... we could also probably donate some screw drivers and multimeters. =)

I thought perhaps the Asheville tool Library was moving here, which would be very convenient. I haven't visited them, but it looks like they are in or near the building where we had our stuff stored?

Thanks for throwing some pertinent XKCD in there!

I like Avi's suggestion--is any revision actually possible now, or are they pretty much committed to what they show?

Yeah, the Asheville Tool Library is in the former OpenSpace (now called BaseCamp I believe) building where we had all our stuff for a few months. We all used to occupy the same building in W.Asheville.

Sometimes the name of the group (or person) is on the left, and a description on the right, sometimes its reversed. Very inconsistent, or maybe I don't see the pattern. It really should be "Asheville Makers" on the left and "Makerspace" on the right.

Yes.

From the point of view of "Brand Awareness", for sure.
