Hey folks! Richard Simms with Tech Talent South asked me to send this to the groups. They are looking for Rails instructors for classes this spring. Below is the blurb he asked me to forward. If you think you might be interested contact Richard directly at

Tech Talent South's (www.techtalentsouth.com) mission is to develop more tech talent in the South through immersive beginner-focused programs teaching web development and computer programming. We want to do our part to help put the Southeast on the map as the next big tech hub and empower creative thinkers in the area with the skills they need to drive innovation. Tech Talent South is based in Atlanta but starting in late February, we will be launching our 8-week Code Immersion Program for adults in the Asheville area. Part-time and full-time sessions will be available. We love Asheville and can't wait to be a part of the community!

In our Code Immersion Program, we teach the following:

·       Ruby on Rails

·       Domain Modeling

·       HTTP and "RESTful" Design

·       HTML/CSS

·       Javascript and AJAX

·       How to utilize APIs

Students come out of our program with a tremendous foundation in web development and the know-how to code, design, and ship dynamic database-backed web applications.

We are looking for passionate, persistent, and creative people looking to do something BIG. If that sounds like you, check out our website to learn more and apply.

-Those who work with their hands, their head, and their hearts are artists.

I don't have any personal experience with the Tech Talent South adult program, but this summer my 12 year old son did their kids code camp, and it was great. He came back very excited about programming, was hacking ruby for days afterwards, and generally started to understand a little bit better what I do for a living.

Thumbs up to Richard and Betsy for making this happen!
