Wonderful New Year Celebrations of Engineering students

Vidyalankar College of engineering students celebrated ''new year celebrations'' with children of ''asha mumbai''.
Gajanan shewale, final year engineering student of vidyalankar college of engineering approached 'asha mumbai' to organise one day workshop for Asha children. Asha Mumbai always welcomes enthusiastic people to share their knowledge with students on weekend under ''weekend workshop'' project. Thus, Asha Mumbai grabbed the opportunity to allow Asha children to share a 1st day of year with young talents of college.
On 1st January, 2012 gajanan and his ten enthusiastic friends reached at Asha Mumbai center, opp. IIT Mumbai main gate at 10 am. Nikhil, volunteer of Asha Mumbai along with Asha children and teachers welcomed all these college students. First 30 minutes went in chit chatting and of course, ''new year greetings''!
Group then started their first session of day: PC hardware & assembling.
Computer is now 'need' and Asha children are aware of internet and basic softwares. But this was first opportunity for children to know how does computer work? What are the parts? And to find out answer of their many many questions. College students first thought that how to explain this complicated instrument in easy language to students, but surprised when interacted with asha children and found that children know many things.. may not be in scientific language. Children had lot of questions and were satisfied by answers of young engineers. Planned 2hrs session became 3hrs ''sci fi movie'' and everyone was hungry & enjoyed lunch. Of course, all had lunch with full dhamaal.. masti. As normally happened after heavy lunch, nobody wants to learn or to teach technical things. But, next session was extension of dhamaal.. Masti: it was JAM session. These engineering cum singer, pianist, guitarist and dancers sang beautiful bollywood songs for children. Children requested latest, favorite song- ''kolavari di''. Some Asha children were not shy when asked to sing a song and all started dancing on their favorite ''kolavari di''.
This dhamaal mast mood went to highest peak when gajanan announced about 3rd session of day: dance asha dance.. He taught very basic steps of western dance. Students requested him to teach ''moon walk''. Though it is not easy to learn this difficult..michael jacson step.., student took challenge to practice & learn this step in one month.
Now, after all these dhamaal masti.. It was time to thank each other for this wonderful day. Asha Mumbai thanked these enthusiastic college students with certificate. After hitting 'six' on first day of year, all once again wished each other '' happy new year'' and went to make century in the inning of year 2012.
