Everything we do is rooted in the collective, communal experience of the movies and bringing people together around the cinematic arts. Your membership ensures access to that experience is available to everyone and includes a number of personal benefits.
Since it began screening films to the public in 1985, the American Cinematheque has provided diverse film programming and immersive in-person discussions and events with thousands of filmmakers and luminaries, presenting new and repertory cinema to Los Angeles.
The Aero Theatre, its name a tribute to the aerospace industry, was built by the Douglas Aircraft Company. The Streamline Moderne-styled theatre was designed by architect R.M. Woolpert and originally opened its doors to moviegoers in 1940. In 2005, the American Cinematheque spearheaded a renovation of the theatre and re-opened as the Max Palevsky Theatre at the Aero in Santa Monica. The theatre was updated again in 2019 and 2021 with new projection equipment, enhanced sound and facility upgrades.
There is ample street parking on side streets around the theatre. Please park at your own discretion and be aware of signs for Restricted/Permit parking in the area. There is also metered parking on Montana Avenue. Parking restrictions are subject to change at any time without the knowledge of the American Cinematheque.
Hearing Assist Headsets:
For ADA compliance, the Aero Theatre is equipped with ALS / Hearing Assist headsets for all analog Film / Digital / Live P.A. presentations. The headsets amplify the volume of the soundtrack and/or live P.A. feed.
For DCPs (Digital Cinema Packages) that are equipped with Audio Descriptive and Closed Captioning tracks, we meet requirements for DCI Compliance with Audio Descriptive Channel and Cup Holder Mounted Closed Captioning Receivers. For Audio Descriptive Channel, headsets provide a separate track that describes the movie, in addition to the actual soundtrack. For Closed Captioning, a cup holder-mounted device displays the CC track. (Audio Descriptive and Closed Captioning are not available for analog Films screenings.)
Whether gunning for the podium or just wanting to finish strong, the SPEEDPLAY AERO road bike clip-in pedal is aerodynamically engineered to defy wind and boost speed with less effort. The unique 3-axis adjustability allows you to dial in your cleat positioning, micro-adjust your float up to 15 degrees, and decrease your stack height for the most aerodynamic fit on your bike.
Cleats are included.
Wahoo Speedplay pedals are designed for road cycling only. For the best riding experience, ensure your cleats are clean before and during every ride. Off-road cycling can result in damage to the cleats and/or debris becoming lodged in the cleats.
Although it travels between two points on the Canadian shore, this antique cable car will actually take you across the international border between Canada and the United States a total of four times due to the way the river elbows. No passport required!
The Niagara Whirlpool and its swirling waters had been a popular tourist attraction dating back to the late 1800s. During this time, local developer Samuel Colt purchased seven acres of land for $250 and constructed an inclined railway to take visitors from the top of the Niagara Gorge to the bank of the whirlpool rapids below.
In 1913, Niagara Parks was approached by a group of Spanish businessmen interested in building a new cable car that would take visitors across the Niagara Whirlpool. It would provide an entirely new perspective of the gorge with unobstructed views of the natural phenomenon below.
Construction on the aero car began in 1915 and progressed rapidly. Significant excavation was needed on both sides of the gorge in order to house the machinery chambers, a design choice that was made to avoid interfering with views of the river from the surrounding area. The carriage itself was built overseas and shipped to the site where it was installed onto a cable spanning over 500 meters across the swirling waters of the river below.
In the winter of 2023, the Whirlpool Aero Car was removed from its tracks and sent to Saint-Jrme, Qubec, to undergo refurbishments. The lower section of the Aero Car was restored with brand-new mechanical parts, non-slip floor, roof and fresh paint. The iconic yellow arch, designed by renowned Spanish engineer Leonardo Torres-Quevedo was replaced with an identical arch that will extend the life of this historic attraction.
Today, over 100 years after its first ride, over 100,000 individuals ride the Whirlpool Aero Car annually, and these recent refurbishments will allow for future generations to continue to enjoy this world-renowned attraction.
Single rear systems are very popular these days, but the one problem with them is finding a way to store your repair kit. NOT ANYMORE! XLAB has designed the 1st aerodynamic repair storage bag for these systems. This patent-pending design looks compact & sleek, but at the same time will carry a great deal of essential repair tools.
There are two storage options available for the Delta 400, DELTA 425, and Delta 430 the AERO POUCH 300 or the Multi-Strike. XLAB does not recommend that the two storage options be used together due to the additional weight load on the rear carrier's mount.
Hidden hoses and wires are the name of the game when it comes to the modern bicycle and the
expectations of the rider. ENVE's IN-Route
System is designed to hide hoses and wires from
the wind, improving the bike's aero performance
with a practical and user-friendly solution. This
doesn't come at the expense of limiting drivetrain
options - the RD, AR, and GRVL IN-Route forks,
bars, stems, spacer, and headset options are
compatible with most drivetrain brands, models,
and configurations on the market.
Often an overlooked part, but important in its function and integration of drivetrain components, the SES Aero Stem features a refined shape and carbon laminate that bridges the gap between the touch points of the handlebar and the bike. Fully integrating and concealing all cabling from the shifters to the frame, the SES Aero Stem is the final piece of the puzzle to a cleaner looking bike and clean airflow for real world aero performance.
We offer two different shapes of aerobar extensions: L-Bends and S-Bends. The L-Bends (or ski-bends) tend to place your wrists in a more ergonomic, comfortable position that's great for long rides and triathlons. The S-Bends let you pull against the extensions effectively for intense time-trial efforts. Not sure which one is best for you? We generally recommend the L-Bend extensions if you're on the fence.
L-Bend Extensions
Different bikes sometimes have different seatpost diameters. The ShockStop Seatpost is 27.2mm in diameter, so if your bike's seatpost is larger, you'll need a shim to adapt our seatpost to your bike's frame. Don't worry though, the shims are super-lightweight and essentially invisible once installed.
Non-compatible posts: Unfortunately, if your bike's seatpost is smaller than 27.2mm (for example, the 25.4mm posts found on some recent model Cannondale Synapses) our seatpost is currently not compatible with your bike. Likewise, if you have a bike with an aero/oval/non-round seatpost, or if your bike has an integrated seatmast, the seatpost is also not compatible.
The Quick-Release Aerobars are different than any other aerobars on the market. The patented quick-release mechanism allows you to attach or remove the aerobars in a few seconds, without any tools. You can choose the best setup for every single ride.
The patented Dual-Position Seatpost lets you ride a true aero position on a standard road bike, without sacrificing your normal road position. And you can switch between road and aero positions on-the-fly while riding so you can always choose the best riding position for every part of your ride.
Going fast isn't only about aero; it's also about staying fresher and more composed than the competition so that you are primed for that decisive attack or rush to the finish line. To create the fastest Felt road bike ever, we built upon the solid foundation of aero testing and road wins delivered across prior generation AR's. On top of this we added the new trends of wider tires, cable integration, and vibration dampening technologies to create a complete rider-first package. Go. Fast.
