IMPORTANTThe enterprise version of SketchBook, formerly known as Autodesk SketchBook Pro, has been retired. Since the feature list was the same, with the exception of the Curved Ruler (which has been added to version 9.0) and the network installation option, we decided to retire this version.
This readme contains the latest information regarding installation and use of the RETIRED ENTERPRISE version of Autodesk SketchBook Pro. It is strongly recommended that you read this entire document. For reference, you should save this readme to your hard drive or print a copy.
For this release, we added a Curve Ruler. Found in the Guides, use it to draw curves and sweeps, not possible with the Ellipse or French Curve tool. Simply tap-drag an end to change its shape or drag the middle to reposition it. Need a larger curve? Scale the ruler. Want to retain a curve, but need to move the ruler to do so? No problem. And, like our other guides, there is no need to draw directly on this ruler. We fixed some bugs, made some general improvements, and made changes regarding the operating systems we support.
Solution 1: In your Autodesk SketchBook Pro file, either save it as a TIFF or create another layer for the background color and save it as a PSD. The background color layer of a SketchBook PSD file is dropped when opened in Photoshop to avoid a conflict with the Photoshop background layer of a native PSD file. TIFF files with a background layer don't have this issue.
Solution 2: Toggle the background layer off before saving your work. This turns off the background completely, resulting in a transparent background. Once the file is opened in Photoshop, you can manually create a new background.
Why: The Standards and Formats language setting is set to French. Many users who use an English OS often set their regional language to another language, so that they can properly view formatted documents in that language.
To ensure Autodesk SketchBook Pro runs to its potential, please ensure that your hardware and operating system meet the requirements listed for your version of Autodesk SketchBook Pro: System Requirements
Since Autodesk SketchBook Pro uses a different installer than the SketchBook subscription version, there is an installation guide to walk you through such things as configuring network licenses and creating newtwork deployment. Click here for the Autodesk SketchBook Pro installation guide.
I have a cintiq pro 13 and I have the sketchbook desktop version. When I draw on my tablet, nothing shows up, however if I move the sketchbook window to my laptop screen , everything i have drawn shows up, I can draw fine on my laptop monitor using my mouse, and it shows up when I draw, but then if I move the screen back to my tablet and draw on it, it does not show up. Funny thing is on my layer manager window it shows everything I draw as I draw it but not on the main bigger window that is for drawing. It does work fine in the windows 10 version but that version is for windows tablets which mine isn't and makes it incredibly hard to work with. Anyone has any ideas on how to fix this??
Literally figured out a week ago and it has to do with your graphics card, mine at least. So when I started sketch book it would run with my integrated grphics processor. To get it working I had to right click it and chose run with graphics processor and choose high end nvidia graphics processor and that fixed for me
I have this same issue, not sure if there is another thread. Mine is an XP Pen 24 Pro as my second display. When I switch that to my main display the app opens fine, but I don't want that to be my main display because then all my other apps and games try to open on this display.
I installed Sketchbook and started a trial before I saw that a student version existed. I chose to get the student version for my account, but now, I am not sure what to do. When I open Sketchbook now, I am on the trial. Is the student version a separate download? Or does my account have a product license/key for the student version that I have to apply to the downloaded Sketchbook? If so, how do I apply this?
The Trial you downloaded probably corresponds to SketchBook Pro. This is different from SketchBook for Enterprise 2018, which is the version offered on Education Community.
I recommend that you un-install SketchBook Pro, and then install and activate your Student version of SketchBook for Enterprise 2018 by using the corresponding downloads and license details (Serial Number & Product Key), which you'll find in your Autodesk Account.
actually i have the same problem and i have SketchBook for Enterprise 2019 not Sketchbook pro as you say.. and it keeps on asking me for my license and usually i have that in my email for Auto CAD or 3d MAX for example, but thats when autodesk ask for a prove that i am student which is to upload my enrollment certificate.. so i think what you said doesnt work?
I have recently transferred to using the desktop version (Mac) of Autodesk Sketchbook, and I mostly like it, but it's missing quite a few brushes in the app version. The particular brush I use frequently is the "synthetic acrylic" brush. I tried to recreate it using the custom brush feature on desktop, but the one thing that's stopping me from fully, accurately recreating it is the lack of texture options. Synthetic acrylic has this texture:
The closest thing I could get to this on desktop is the texture that is used in the rough charcoal brush, but it really isn't the same. Is there any way I can find this texture somewhere, or does anyone know any brushes in free sets that have textures just like it?
Thank you for your help! I ended up replicating the texture by drawing a line with the brush on mobile and copying the texture using the "capture" function. (The new brush I made is on the left, the one on the right is the OG)
I will confess I began sketching because I saw some very detailed sketches that were practically works of art. The designer had even used drafting markers to add color and depth to the sketches! I wanted a book of sketches that I could use as a coffee table book at my office. In my mind clients would look through the book in awe as they waited for meetings. So I started sketching. While I never ended up putting my sketchbooks out for clients to look through I got something much better out of it.
I am very pleased with the latest version. I truly believe designing from paper will improve any designers work, regardless if you use my tool or printer paper. I urge you to try it, just a handful of times. See where it gets you.
Similar to Moleskine, it has a name and address area on the inside front cover, as well as having a inside pocket on the inside back cover of the book. It has a glued in ribbon for keeping your spot in the sketchbook, rounded corners, hardcover construction, the elastic band to keep it shut, and as an extra it comes with stickers for labeling the book for the shelf when you are done.

At Autodesk, we believe creativity starts with an idea. From quick conceptual sketches to fully finished artwork, sketching is at the heart of the creative process. VERSION 1.5 - THE ONE ABOUT SELECTION AND SYMMETRY. This update adds two highly requested features to SketchBook Windows 10. First, we added Radial Symmetry, with up to 16 sectors. Draw wheels, flowers, mandalas, and any other radially symmetrical shape with ease. We also added in the full suite of Selection tools, including freeform selection with the Lasso, Magic Wand, and Rectangle. You can add and subtract from the selected area, sample one or all layers, invert your selection, and move or transform the selected area. Thanks for drawing with SketchBook!
You can now create custom brushes, export them for others to try, and import brushes made by others. You can also add or delete brushes and/or brush groups from the Brush Palette. Making your own brushes and using other custom brushes can open up a whole new world of possibilities. Create custom icons for brushes, including texture icons. Find the new brush management features in the Brush Library. We think Windows 10 users are going to love this as much as our other SketchBook Pro Desktop users do. Happy Brush Day everyone!
We've added a new Preferences dialog with options for enabling Pen Mode and gestures or resetting the app to the factory defaults. We also fixed the issue with not being able to exit the Color Picker or sketch in SketchBook after using ALT+TAB to switch apps on Windows.
