How do you set the loop section? I can't find any documentation on how to do this. Thanks!

You can use "View > Set Loop Section" or F2 key:

Hope it helps!

I see. The key piece I was missing was click and drag the frame range.

Would it be possible to support Shift + comma/period keys? That's what I was trying, since scrubbing through the animation is done with comma/period. Or maybe even Shift or Ctrl Click on the frame range?

The comma/period key are tricky ones (they change depending on the keyboard layout).
I'll see if I can add the specific command to do so (select frame, layer, cels ranges) and then the user can configure the shortcuts as they want (the default shortcut could be Shift+arrow keys, like a text editor).
