The pronunciation of Japanese is quite simple. Its more like your trying to skip on as many vowels as you can without it sounding like another word. For example the word "desu" is most of the times pronounced as "dehs".
The vowels of Japanese are pronounced different than that of English in that they dont change becuase of other vowels in the same word or by consonants.
