Windows 7?

ASEISQL is great. I used it all the time before my work upgraded from XP to Windows 7 (yes, they waited as long as possible). it doesn't work since the upgrade. there is some kind of DLL error when I try to launch the program. is ASEISQL supposed to run on Windows 7? or is there something about my company's security configuration likely to be causing this?

Should work fine.  If you're using Sybase client > 12 you have to rename the libraries using the copylibs.Bat before you can load AseIsql

Have you done this already?
