You should be able to change the primary site administrator account with no issues, even if the site is federated. Make sure that you change it from ArcGIS Server Manager and not by editing the config files.
In ArcGIS Server Manager, navigate to Security > Settings > Primary Site Administrator Account, then click on the edit pencil. It will allow you to change the username and password of the primary site administrator account.
You are attempting to reset the password using that command. The only way you can actually change a password is is by providing the old password as well as the new. These are two different operations, and require different permissions.
While logged onto a domain computer (under any account), hit Ctrl+Alt+Del, choose "Change Password". Has anyone come up with a way to allow remote users to change their own passwords in VisualSVN server? We have it running in 'stand-alone' (non-ActiveDirectory) mode and the only down side that I've found to this excellent product is that users can't set or change their passwords.

You can't reset user's password via web interface however WMI (Windows ManagementInstrumentation) provider of VisualSVN Server allows you to reset a password. I.e. you can access VisualSVN Server via WMI so you can write a script on various programming languages to manage the server and automate maintenance tasks.
Unfortunately VisualSVN Server WMI provider is not documented however you can look though MOF file which describes available classes, methods and properties. You can also check WMI Administrative Tools, this toolkit is very helpful when you want to explore WMI infrastructure.
Please note that this script is a sample and you may need to adjust the command to work in your environment. E.g. you may need to pass '-credential' parameter to authenticate successfully. Make sure that user account under which you authenticate has administrator privileges or at least is a member of VisualSVN Server Admins local group.
I encountered an issue today that I can't seem to find any info on. I'm a domain admin using Windows server 2016 and I'm having a password reset issue. I was able to click the reset password window on AD, but the box for "user must change password on next logon" was grayed out which required me to change it instead of fully resetting it (Photo included). I found out that the graying out went away once we turned off passwords never expire. I checked each account and the issue persisted to each user account I checked, the only account that I checked that didn't have the graying out was my own. Is there a way we can allow a password to never expire and still be able to reset our users passwords allowing the change password on next logon?
To increase security my client requested the Windows password change of the administrator account of the Qlik server, I found the links below but I have unclear doubts for which I ask for support:

As far as I know there are no problems, is an administrate tasks that you would need to do to edit the password on all services in all the nodes. Bear this in mind, in case you restart a service and then if fails or if a server is restarted and services are down.
For one of our customers we have configered a maximum password age of 90 days. If those 90 days are over, the users are forced on logon to change their password. This worked fine for the past 9 months, but since today we have massiv problems.
The user gets notificated that he have to change his password. After changing it Windows shows the notification "Password beeing changed" and that is where the Problem occurs. In the past Windows showed after that the small text "Password has been changed" and starts to logon the user(loading his profile and so on). But since today there happens nothing. The Workstations are just hanging with the message "Password being changed" and the password circle is rotating.
If you turn off the workstation and logon again with the same User and the new Password, then you can logon. If you try to do this with the old password, you get an "Password and/or Username false" error. I was able to see this behavior on different workstations with different users. Because of that I suspect it is a network wide Problem.
We had this problem at a previous employer. It was an ACL on the routers between the DCs and the workstations. Make sure that all required ports are available, especially 464 (as Mathias R. Jessen pointed out). Here's a list of those ports.
At the moment the problem does not exist anymore. I've just done a reboot of all DC's and since there it looks like the problem is "solved". I've got no report from a user in the last 10 Days and there are at least 4 Users who had to renew their password. If the Problem occurs again I will post the solution here(if we can find one).
I am configuring an authentication policy in my F5 using APM. I wanna know if I can change the user's password using the policy when I use an LDAP server. I have found that I can change user's passwords when is an AD but I can't find anything about LDAP.
As long as you have the "change password" option enabled on the logon page, the end user can see the option to change their password. But if you are using an LDAP server instead of an AD server, the prompt to change the password won't actually be given to the user.
I tested this in a lab environment, where I used the same exact actual server but created two different entries in APM: one as an LDAP server, and one as an AD server. Either way, the logon page presented the checkbox. But only if I was using an AD server would the checkbox actually take me to a reset password page.
This thread on devcentral explains the configuration in decent detail. Of course, the use-case for this was fairly limited in the first place, not really allowing for support of users who forgot their passwords to change it. There's been a couple of requests for greater support but I haven't seen a response or any other documentation for it.
We have a number of Red Hat linux servers in our IT environment. I am being asked by my team members to write a script (preferably shell script) to change a user's password on each one of those in a single go, using SSH.
I have tried to find a solution but many of the scripts I found are using Expect. We do not have Expect installed on our servers and the system admins have refused to let us install it. Also, the users do not have root access so passwd --stdin or chpasswd cannot be used.
