I am behind selling everything that can be replaced with one machine to do it all. It will reduce our maintance cost and provide us with more garage space. However we must have an idea of cost to purchase the new machine. This will let us know where we stand in regaurds to how much money we will need to raise to make the new purchase possible.

So this pirate walks into a bar... Stop me if u have heard this one before

We did discuss selling the machines at the previous meeting, and were given permission to sell, specifically, the Kubota and the MF.  I believe that we can act, as the maintenance committee in coordination with the exec. board, without having to take the time to meet in person.  This man owns a snow removal company and would be using the simplicity/snow blade for that.  If we wait until Feb. 7 to decide I am sure that he will be uninterested at that point.

The only specific areas we use the simplicity to cut is the beach front and the clearing on the top of the hill, both of which can be cut with the brush hog.  The auger does come in handy, but we do not use it that often (and it is difficult and dangerous to use).  As for the snow blade, I do not think we have any use for it.  And this still leaves us with three grass cutters (the Gravely, CubCadet, and the Power King) for the next season.

I agree with Michael.  I think it is important to meet face to face to discuss this prior to selling any of the equipment.

I am alright will selling them so long as we don't find ourselves in a bind without the equipment that we need. That's my two cents for the rest of 2008

Hello Everyone,

I hope that we all had a good Thanksgiving.  I just want to get an official Yes or No about selling the Simplicity (with the mower deck and the snow blade) and the auger bit with the Kubota.  Eric, Hans, and I all feel that this is okay, but again, I'd like to get moving asap.  Any imput/discussion regarding this idea?

With the MF, I have incorrect model numbers.  I have been talking to some people on a tractor forum, and it turns out that the loader is the MF34 and the backhoe is the MF54.  A Massey "expert" saw the pictures I have of the machine and is pretty sure that it is a MF30 or a MF40.  I need to make sure that the info I post future ads with is accurate. He also told me where to find the tractor's model number plate.  Steve if you are up at camp before I am, can you look under the dash on either the right hand or left hand side.  It isn't the serial plate that is on the arm of the loader or the one on the side by the oil filter.  Also, do you know if it is 3cyl or 4cyl?  I thought it was a 3, but the guy who I spoke with said he thinks its a 4cyl Perkins diesel.  Maybe we can ask Mr Zebel, Mr Barker or someone who may know some more.  I just do not want to give potential buyers bad information.

Thanks!

Christopher

 Hi Stephen,

Sorry for it taking a while to get back, my computer is now broken, and I have limited access to the internet right now.  Yes, the buyer was interested in both the mower deck and the plow.
