Thanks for your input.
I have discussed this very topic with Steve King. His professional opinion was that it would make more sense to have the floor painted after major work is completed (i.e. installing toilets). That way, our newly painted floor won't be marred by installation of the toilets. Any painting behind toilets, and supply lines can be completed before the placment of the toilets.
As I have confirmed with Steve King, we will have 4 new sink faucets (one in Boys wash house and 3 in the girls WH). There will also be 6 new shower faucets that are capable of draining completely. He says he will need only one day per WH to complete all of the work including installing the toliets. We need to complete all of the painting of the washhouses other than the floors prior to Steve King coming out.
As for the toilets themselves, Steve King has recommended a toilet with a larger outlet hole from the tank that will aid in the flushing of solid waste. The toilet is low-flow,as we discussed at the meeting.

This is taken straight out of the minutes from Aug. 30th
-All shower and sink valves, handles, and faucets in the wash houses and millennium building. If the money is not available in the camp treasury, it will be taken out of the boosters.
The millennium building was to be included for replacement of the
fixtures. Is this something we should be doing at the same time as
the two main wash houses or should we make sure the two main get done
first then worry about the millennium wash houses? My opinion is at
least have him do the shower fixtures in the MCC at the same time but
perhaps not the toilets and sinks until the two main are done? How
does everyone else feel about this?
For clarification:
Steve King is going to snake the drains and replace the toilet
flanges before the floors are epoxyed (everything needed to replace
the toilets other then putting a new wax ring, bolting down the
toilet and connecting the water line). But the toilets
themselves are not going to be put in until after the floor is
epoxyed and had enough time to cure. if time permits this can be done by maintenance
committee.
Hello all,
I apologize if there was confusion with my posting. Steve king will replace the toilet flanges and wax ring, but will not set the toilet when completed to allow us time to complete our tasks as discussed in our mtg. I am sorry I must have missed the part of our mtg when the MCC wash rooms were discussed If the consensus was to replace the sink faucets and shower faucets as well during this remodeling project, I will discuss that with him and make it happen.
Also, I spoke w/ steve K., the toilet that he looking at for us is a Kohler toilet, Wellsworth mod. It is a residential toilet that has the commercial features, larger outlet from the tank to assist in solid waste removal, also 1.5 gal flush rate. We will also have two ADA compliant toilets in each bldg. These will be a Mansfield toilet w/ the same features as the Kohler.
Was it discussed that the toilets would be replaced in both wash rooms of the MCC or, removed and lines snaked w/ rooter?
I also discussed the issue of the drain traps in the hall between rms 2-3, pump room, and laundry area. He has given me several things to try to clearly diagnose the problem, but ultimately we need to review the bldg schematic to find out what lines are there and where they go.
