How-to Make Basic PEX Connections

graphic
PEX has made plumbing easier. The components are user-friendly for plumbers and leave water systems immediately ready for inspection. The material doesn't require glue joints to set up, and there is no flux to flush out of the system.

Because PEX's flexibility means fewer joints to connect, jobs are completed faster and with less chance of leaky joints. PEX resists the heat loss and scale buildup common to metal pipe.

PEX also has an advantage over alternative materials in cold weather because of its ability to expand rather than crack and break in freezing conditions. This flexibility also greatly reduces water hammer, the sound of metal pipe banging against a house's framing. New adaptive fittings and brackets make PEX even easier to install.

I like the PEX plumming a lot. Kira's parents just put it in there house and said it was very easy to install. It may also help reduce the amount of broken pipes.

This dentist and deacon is following your emails! This deacon and dentist is even familiar with plumbing and electrical and construction and I do not mean oral only!

Check with the local codes...if we ever need to be "inspected" we may need to use certain materials which apply to commercial vs residential. When I was renovating my office, I had to use copper only. The PVC and other plumbing was allowed in residential only. Codes do vary. This is just for your info. At camp we may be able to get away with things.
