Announcement from the "Google group" for ASCJ (Asian Studies
Conference Japan).
Well over 300 people participated in the 12th annual conference at
Rikkyo University, despite the rain. At the Business Meeting on July
22 (Sunday), two important items were decided:
(1) The site for the 13th annual conference will be Sophia University.
For many years, ASCJ met on the Ichigaya campus. As this campus is now
closed, we will use the main Yotsuya campus, conveniently located next
to Yotsuya station, between Tokyo and Shinjuku on the Chuo Line.
(2) The Executive Committee was expanded with the addition of four new
members:
John T. Dorsey, Professor, Rikkyo University
Field: drama, comparative literature
Katalin Ferber, Associate Professor, Waseda University
Field: economic history of Japan, East Asia
