footnotes in pdf output not working correctly

Hello all,

I've been using asciidoc/asciidoctor for quite a while and am not working on a project where I need footnotes. I don't mind them showing up and the end of each chapter however the content that should be in the footnote is actually showing up within the text in brackets[1.brackets] in the pdf. The footnotes work as expected in html output.

It looks like the footnotes were made available for pdf output in 2019 and I'd expect to find information about bugs if this were a common problem.

Any suggestions?

It would be best if you asked this question on the Asciidoctor mailing list at https://discuss.asciidoctor.org. This is the mailing list for AsciiDoc.py, which is a different software project.

When you post there, be sure to include the output of "asciidoctor-pdf -v" so we know which version of Asciidoctor PDF and Asciidoctor you are currently using.
