Dear friends, I need a clarification regarding the stress-relieving
process related to Ti-6Al-4V.
Post machining operation, before final finishing, this material is
stress relieved for 1Hr at 550 degC at our end.
But when I referred the standards hand book, the temp range was: 480 -
650 degC and time was 4 - 1 Hr. i.e. for higher temperature lesser the
processing time. Hence, for 550 degC the process time required is
approx. 2Hrs. Also, the treatment time is dependent on the wall
thickness.
Kindly, provide the correct guidelines and standards to be adhered (if
copies are attached - great!) and the procedures followed in other
centres. Please enlighten us :)
Thank you.
With regards,
ABDUL HAMEED H
