Dear Bull Run Branch Members and Supporters,

Hopefully you had already received the message below but just wanted to add my personal invite to attend this great opportunity.

We continue to strive to provide services to all our members and supporters across the ten counties in the Bull Run Branch.  Therefore this training and dinner in Fredericksburg on July 17, 2018 become very important in reaching this goal.

Not only are we holding a dinner/training session beyond the DC commuting area but we are very fortunate in having Tara Hoke from ASCE as one of our speakers.  If you are a reader of the ASCE Magazine you have seen her monthly column on Ethics.  As you know, engineers benefit from being highly viewed for trustworthiness  by the public.  Maintaining this trust through your understanding of ethics in the practice of civil engineering will be reinforced by attending this training.      

So please join us for this training that also includes learning about the latest in surveying systems, with an opportunity to network with colleagues in engineering.

Join us for the Bull Run Branch Networking/Dinner/Training on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. The Branch will be hosting this training at the Sealy Auditorium on the Fredericksburg Germanna Community College Campus. Two PDHs for your Professional Engineering (PE) or Licensed Surveyor (LS) certification.

Schedule of Events 

o   5:00 - 5:30  Social/Networking
o   5:30 - 6:30  ASCE Ethics Presentation
o   6:30 - 7:00  Dinner
o   7:00 - 8:00  GPS, GIS, Aerial Tech Presentation
 
Location is the Sealy Auditorium in SP2, Workforce and Technology Center of Germanna Community College, 10000 Germanna Point Drive, Fredericksburg, VA (see maps below).

First Session Speaker will be Tara Hoke from ASCE Headquarters - Tara Hoke writes the monthly Ethics article in the ASCE Magazine and will therefore be providing Ethics training which is required by several states as part of their continuing education requirement for PE renewal.  

Second Session Speakers will be Dan Wheeler, PS and Jacob Darrah, GISP. Dan is a Senior Survey Manager with The Thrasher Group and a leader of their UAS program. Jacob is one of The Thrasher Group's highly qualified GIS and aerial technologies specialists.  Their presentation will be "GPS, GIS and Aerial Technologies Supporting Engineering and Land Surveying"
 
Note:  If not able to attend both sessions, please feel free to attend as your schedule allows.
