Hello All,
Hope everyone had a good holiday. Because last Thursday fell on the first and was a holiday, the Sustainability Commission meeting has been moved to this Thursday, which conflicts with our meeting time. Therefore, I will have to postpone this week's meeting. I am open to meeting next week or waiting until February. Please let me know if you have a preference for a meeting next week.
I also invite the group to attend the Commission meeting in person at City Hall in the Mayor's conference room if you are interested. I attached this month's agenda.
Updates from our office: We were not selected for the Natural Resource Inventory Grant in the State's Climate-Smart Communities Program this year. I am hopeful we will be able to apply again in the future, but in the meantime, maybe we can work with the local universities to create something.
The climate action planning process is still underway. Our vulnerability survey closes 2/1/26. Additionally, we are hosting small-group conversations on waste, transportation, and buildings. If anyone is interested in hosting a climate ambassador to speak with a group they are affiliated with, we would welcome input.
Thanks and happy 2026!
