Dear Racers:
The Hardway Race on May 17th, Milt Ingram Trophy Race on July12th, and Tri-point Ocean Race on August 9th have been hosted by PBYC for over three decades. Each race uses one of our Channel Islands as a mark of the course. The Island Series combines
these races into one event, giving racers a prestigious series of competition
throughout the summer. Each race can be entered individually. .
Boats must enter all three races to be scored for the Island Series. The
Island Series is a three-race series with no throw-outs. For Series scoring
purposes, there are four classes: Spinnaker A for boats that race around
Santa Cruz Island in the Hardway Race, Spinnaker B for boats that race
around Anacapa Island in the Hardway Race, Non-spinnaker, and ORCA.
Trophies for the three individual races as well as the Island Series will be
awarded at PBYC on Sunday, August 10th after the Tri-point Ocean Race.
Registration is now open on Regatta Network.  Boats can be entered for the Series or just for the Hardway Race at     https://www.regattanetwork.com/event/27988
We encourage all spinnaker fleet racers to consider registering for the course that goes from Santa Barbara round Santa Cruz Island to Ventura.  The other choice is to round Anacapa Island.  The ORCA class will also sail this course.  Non-spinnaker racers sail straight down the coast.
The whales are waiting to show off just for you, so register now.
