As the COVID 19 Coronavirus outbreak continues to develop, ASBC has made the decision to cancel all YAM events and activities THROUGH June 10, 2020. In the beginning of this pandemic, we established a YAM prayer line, but now we are moving towards a new direction. As of today, May 21, 2020 and moving forward we will be implementing a new Prayer and Meditation Digest that will be sent out on - Thursdays! Please look out for this digest from your YAM Board Leaders until The Rona has subsided.
YAM Prayer & Meditation Digest

Scripture:
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” – Matthew 8:23-27 (NIV)
Meditation: Keep Calm and Have Faith
When we find ourselves in storms we can’t control, such as a pandemic, social injustice and police violence, how do we respond with faith? Here are three encouraging truths to remember:
God has power over every storm.
Fixing your eyes on Jesus leads to peace.
Jesus is always in your boat.
Whenever you find yourself overwhelmed by life, you always have two choices: you can focus on your circumstances or fix your eyes on Jesus. If you choose to look to Jesus above everything else, you will begin to see that the storms you face are not nearly as powerful as the Savior choosing to walk through the storm alongside you.
Prayer:
Dear Lord God, I ask that you help us not to let life’s circumstances overwhelm us, but to keep our focus on You, so that we can navigate any situation with Your wisdom and peace. During these difficult times, help us to live out our faith, not our sight. We might not be able to change our situation, but we can choose to faithfully trust You, God in the middle of it. Most of all, help us to remember that we never truly sail any storm by ourselves. Thank you for always being right there by our side. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
