Are you interested in learning about our lineage and our crosswalk in
history? Are you ready to make your mark as our forefathers have? Are
you a new member of our church family? Join us on Friday, February
17, 2012 in the ASBC Multipurpose Room at 7:00 pm. Refreshments will
be
served.


Calling all Young Adults!!!
Our February Outreach Event will be at the ASBC HBCU College Festival
on February 18th at TC Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. It is
extremely important that we show support and present an example of
what transpires when hard work and effort are exuded! I have attached
instructions for sign up below. The opportunity is available to
assist your alma mater/school of your choice, assisting with
operations the
day of the event, or helping with break down. Please lmk in what
capacity you'd like to assist during the event. If you have any
questions at all please don't hesitate to contact me. :-)

You may sign up after any service beginning the weekend of Sat./Sun,
Jan 14/15. Please pay special attention to the following when you go
to sign up:

1. All volunteers must be a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church
2. Put your DG (Discipleship Group #) at the top of the volunteer
registration form
3. You must attend a mandatory volunteer meeting (Sat., Feb 4 or
Sat., Feb 11). If unable to attend this very important meeting, we
will not be able to use your services this year.
4. Print clearly on the volunteer form

The college festival will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at
TCW High School. For additional information about the college
festival go to www.asbchbcu.org. You may download flyers from the
website.

Other noteworthy festival tips to share: We have a host hotel for the
first time thanks to Mr. Kenneth Abroms. It is the National Airport
Holiday Inn in Crystal City. Discount room rates are $89/night.
Further details are on the festival website under the tab Directions/
Hotel. Share this with those you know traveling to the event!!!

The White House will be sending a representative to talk to students
about internships. They will also be available to interview parents
for jobs at the White House.

We are excited about celebrating our 10th Annual HBCU College
Festival in the memory of Rev. Dr. John O. Peterson! We hope that you
are too
and that you will sign up to help us again.
