July YAM Event/Thursday Prayer and Meditation Digest

Join YAM for our July Friday Night Virtual Event and a moment to give God some praise and worship through "Say What Karaoke." 

We are looking for a few volunteers to perform a karaoke song of their choice. It must be positive, uplifting, and profanity-free. 

There will be prizes for the best karaoke performances, and remember, a good karaoke performance is all about song choice and presentation. 

Talent is not a requirement for participation. This is all about having a good time.    

When/Where: Friday, July 17, 2020 at 7pm.

Theme: Join us for a celebration of victory as we sing songs, play games, and engage in very friendly and holy competition. 

Though we are in the wilderness, we can sing songs of joy, knowing that God is on our side, He is in control, and He will work all things together for our good.  

Scripture: Psalm 100: 1 (NKJV) “Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!” 

Joshua 6:1 and 16 (NKJV) “Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.”

“And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: ‘Shout for the Lord has given you the city!’

The YAM Prayer Line is now the.YAM Prayer and Meditation Digest on Thursdays!

As the COVID 19 Coronavirus outbreak continues to develop, ASBC has made the decision to cancel all YAM events and activities THROUGH June 10, 2020. In the beginning of this pandemic, we established a YAM prayer line, but now we are moving towards a new direction. As of today, May 21, 2020 and moving forward we will be implementing a new Prayer and Meditation Digest that will be sent out on - Thursdays! Please look out for this digest from your YAM Board Leaders until The Rona has subsided.

Faith over Fear

Scripture: James 1:5-7

5) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6) But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7) That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

Meditation:  As we watch the news or read articles from various outlets, there seems to be a commonality. Doubt and fear. Doubtful of our leadership and fearful that things may not return to “normal.” Doubtful of the upcoming election and fearful of the next 4 years. I implore you to lean on the side of faith and optimism. Have optimism that those who are elected will walk by faith and not by sight. Be optimistic that although things may not return to what we considered normal, we will be faithful to do what the Lord directs. 

Prayer: Dear Lord we thank you for blessing us with a sound mind and the ability to come to you in time of rejoicing and doubt. You are a God who gives generously and without reproach. We ask for faith to approach each day and situation with courage and not doubt. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
