To the members of the Alexandria Commission on HIV/AIDS and Service Providers to Alexandria,
Following is information on the showing THIS FRIDAY evening of the Gospel of Healing at the Community of Hope AME Church in Hillcrest Heights MD. I’m sorry for the late notice but I hope some of you will be able to attend. We will discuss our own screening of this outstanding documentary at our meeting next Monday night.
(Lisa, I have been talking to Paul for a long time now about premiering this in Northern Virginia. Our goal is to assemble a large group of African American community leaders to initiate a dialogue about HIV prevention. Our thought is that we can leverage Paul’s work into a summit of community organizations to inform and mobilize them. In fact, if CBCF/AAALI would like to collaborate, perhaps we could develop and pilot a process here to roll out in conjunction with the film. I believe Paul’s creation is too good and has too much potential for positive change to simply just screen and walk away. We need to ensure it results in community action. Plus, I think you and Paul could be great facilitators of the conversation!)
This is an exciting opportunity. Thanks all for working toward its realization.
