I am just wondering, how can I join this project or get access to
Source Repo to contribute. I am working on Syndication stuff lately and
thinking to add Media RSS support to this library?

Please let me know.

Thanks

Hi Abdul,

We haven't worked out a formal process yet for joining a group.
Ideally, we want to have standards in place for processes like
submitting code, such as running the "test" build target first to make
sure everything passes before committing.

I'd say the best thing to do at the moment would be to create a patch
and submit it to the discussion group as a new topic. Be sure to
include any appropriate unit tests if your patch contains new features.
If you need help in creating a patch, let me know.

Then, after review, the patch will be incorporated into the trunk. At
that point, we'll probably add you as a "Project Member" to the Google
Code group, which will give you commit access to SVN and create/write
access to the Wiki as well. As long as you follow the standards then
for committing code (which don't exist yet), then we'll be fine. :-)

Best,

-d

Thanks Darron for response.

I agree, we need to have all these in things (docs) in place otherwise things start getting messy.

I am right now busy on other stuff which are mostly related to Syndication stuff. I would surely start a thread on this forum to discuss before writing code.

To give you and idea, it is all about writing support for different modules (Media RSS, content, creativeCommons etc) for Syndication library we have currently. I am at the moment looking at the current code base to understand what would be the best strategy to extend it...It won't be idea if we can learn from existing projects (ROME etc) in different languages/platforms..

Thanks again..

Darron,

I have been thinking to add media module (namespace) but looking at the current design of syndication library, it would require changes in  existing RSS20 classes.

I think we can improve the design to have plugin architecture, so we can add modules without changing existing classes or recompilation. I would post my thoughts soon.

We can either patch the current code or redesign things.
