In today's highly competitive job market, it's important to have a resume that stands out from the rest. Fortunately, with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), it's now easier than ever to create a compelling resume that showcases your skills and accomplishments. In this article, we'll explore how you can use AI to write your resume.

There are many AI-powered resume builders available online, and they can help you create a professional-looking resume quickly and easily. These platforms use machine learning algorithms to analyse your work history, education, and skills, and then suggest the best ways to present that information to potential employers.

Some popular AI-powered resume builders include Zety, Novoresume, and Resume.com. These platforms typically offer a range of templates and customisation options to help you create a resume that suits your needs.

Many employers now use applicant tracking systems (ATS) to screen resumes before they reach human recruiters. These systems scan resumes for specific keywords and phrases related to the job, and then rank candidates based on how well their resumes match those keywords.

To increase your chances of getting past an ATS, you can use an AI-powered tool like Jobscan to analyse your resume and suggest changes that will help it rank higher for relevant keywords. Jobscan uses natural language processing (NLP) to identify important keywords and phrases, and then provides you with a list of recommended changes to help you optimise your resume accordingly.

Another way to use AI in writing your resume is to get feedback on your draft from an AI-powered tool. These platforms use NLP and other machine learning techniques to analyse your resume and suggest changes to improve its content, formatting, and overall effectiveness.

One popular tool for resume feedback is RezScore, which uses AI to analyze your resume based on factors such as readability, impact, and relevance. The platform then provides you with a detailed report that highlights areas for improvement and offers suggestions on how to make your resume more effective.

Finally, you can use AI to personalise your resume for each job you apply for. Tools like VMock use NLP to analyze job descriptions and then suggest changes to your resume that will make it more relevant to the specific job you're applying for.

For example, if a job description emphasises teamwork and collaboration, VMock might suggest that you add more information about your experience working on group projects. By tailoring your resume to the specific requirements of each job, you can increase your chances of getting noticed by employers and landing the job you want.

In conclusion, AI can be a powerful tool for writing a resume that stands out from the crowd. By using AI-powered resume builders, keyword optimisation tools, feedback platforms, and personalisation tools, you can create a resume that showcases your skills and accomplishments and increases your chances of getting hired.

Resume builders are online apps that offer interactive templates and forms for swiftly building a seamless resume. While some resume builders need you to fill out all the information manually, some provide relevant pre-written phrases and allow you to import data.

You can fill out your resume with more than 50,000 pre-written bullet points. They cover all industries and mean you can sound as professional as possible. You can download your resume as a Word document or PDF, and the site also has a cover letter builder and tools that can help you with resignation letters, thank-you notes, and letters of recommendation.

The interface allows you to customize your layout, elements, and information quickly, and CakeResume pairs this intelligent user experience with a range of attractive and impressive templates. You can download your resume at any point in the creation process, which is handy for checking your progress or getting feedback from others.

Those templates are a suitable place to start, and Novoresume aims to go further with its extra features. You can use cover letter templates alongside the resume templates. This site has an AI-powered analysis service that suggests resume improvements as you tweak the layout and enter your information.

This site goes far beyond resume building. You can use advanced resume tracking to see when your document has been viewed or downloaded, and you can access free guides, blog posts, and articles if you need some extra help. You can import data from LinkedIn to make CV building easier and consult cover letter templates too.

As with any other resume builder, you can quickly use an attractive template to produce a rock-solid CV using Resume.io. This site also benefits from thousands of pre-written phrases alongside automatic spell checking and the ability to export your file in any format you choose.

Elsewhere, this site deploys cover letter templates too. You can also generate automatic summaries for your documents, access recruitment tips, and track any applications that have used the documents you create on the site.

Zety prides itself on its speed and ease of use, and there's certainly lots to like here: users can build a comprehensive and attractive resume with more than 20 templates, and you can upload your existing CV or add new information to get a document produced within minutes.

Zety has a cover letter builder alongside its resume tools, and users can also access resume and cover letter templates. The site also explains which resume formats are best-suited to different industries and employment situations, and Zety's extensive blog has in-depth articles about resumes, cover letters, and loads of other employment topics.

We considered whether they offered pre-written phrases and context-relevant tips, if there was a review service, and how straightforward the interface and resume-building process was. We also analyzed their customer service to check how prompt, helpful, and customer-oriented they were.

The template I played around was a free template available on popular design website Canva, and whilst the resume looked fantastic on the screen, on printing the document I found that the contact details were chopped from the top, the coloured border was cut by the printer and the bright colours all blended together on my black and white printer.

Being limited to the existing formatting, on attempting to enter a skills section geared towards accounting I was faced with having to duplicate sections in order to retain consistent appearance, and then reformatting the whole document.

Moreover, I found that the formatting only allowed me to enter a limited number of previous positions before the page length exceeded 4 pages. Keeping page length down to a minimum is crucial for getting employers to read the content.

Once I had punched the content into the resume template, I attempted to download the content and could only retrieve these in these PNG or PDF format. Most online applications will allow PDF; but Word is preferred, and often required for government.

Overall, I ultimately felt that the great majority of resume templates were more harmful than good. If you are forced to use a resume template from an online resume builder, either due to not having a Word processing program or being limited to having only your smartphone at your disposal, I would advise you to seek out a template that is linear with minimal images and blocks of colours.

Though there are different resume definitions out there, the most straightforward describes a resume as a brief account of your professional pathway and the competencies you have gained along the way. In its simplest form, a perfect resume is a document that summarizes your professional qualifications as they relate to obtaining a job.

While your ultimate goal with a resume is to get a job, the first purpose it serves is to attract enough attention to get you an interview. Recruiters may go through hundreds of resumes and only pick a few to interview. A well-written and well-formatted resume gets your foot in the door so you can wow them with your communication and personal interview skills.

No matter what type of resume layout you choose, it should be a snapshot of your relevant life and work experience, skills and communication ability. Think of your resume as a one-page advertisement, and you are the product. Combined with a well-written cover letter, your resume gets you through the door for the job.

Depending on the job, a hiring recruiter or manager receives hundreds to thousands of applications for every open spot within their companies. Resumes are the tool they use to narrow down candidates and determine which ones deserve a face-to-face interview. They are often short on time and look for ways to quickly find solid candidates for each job.
