Integrating Arxiv data APIs in E library portal

Hello,

We are commercial E library solution provider in India. We have open source portal where students and researchers can access materials for free. 

We want to integrate Arxiv repository to out E library solution which provide open access of Arxiv data to our students, professors and researchers.

I would like to understand if I could integrate Arxiv content repository with our solution using APIs?

what are legal implications ? If I can do this then what is the right process of integrating Arxiv content to our library.

Hi Akshay,

The API provides the metadata for arXiv articles and that metadata may be used and redistributed in the way you are proposing. 

The full text articles (PDFs and source files) you may not be able to redistribute, depending on the license applied to each article. Most articles have the minimal arXiv license and may not be redistributed.

You should first examine the Terms of Use for the arXiv APIs:

and note that you may not host the full text of the works, but may
link directly to the arXiv versions. More information is available
here:

https://arxiv.org/help/bulk_data

Note that arXiv cannot advise you about your legal rights and
obligations and you should retain private counsel to understand your
liability in this regard.
