Hi All,
Here is a brief re-cap of our meeting the other night. If you would like to amend or add in any way, please feel free to share your thoughts.
The major issue is that we have lost a sponsor that was donating $25,000 per year to ASNV. That is quite a hit and we need to strategize and work harder to make up this short fall. Luckily, the Gala date isn’t until Nov. 2016 so that does give us some breathing room. That being said, we need to jump on opportunities and commit to a strategy NOW and execute that strategy immediately.
There were some categories of companies that we talked about targeting. They are as follows:
Car Dealerships (Kelly, Carmen)
Law Firms (Sarah)
Luxury Retail
Airlines (Paola?)
Government Contractors (Kelly)
Banking Industry (Kelly)
IT Companies (Carmen)
Plastic Surgeons (also for silent auction items)
Medical Practices/Dr. Offices
I would like to add: Trade Organizations and Associations, Large Restaurant Groups, Wineries, Construction Companies, Reaching out to our individual company contacts that we have a personal connection with…could be an employer, or perhaps a friend’s company.
Silent Auction Items:
Orthodontists
Personal Trainers
Make-up Artists
Boutiques
Designers
Hotels
Restaurants
Artists
Spas
Life Coaches
Hair Salons
Florists
Wineries
Local Cruises
Bed and Breakfasts
Dance Lessons
Music Lessons
Art Lessons
Fitness Clubs
Dr. Offices (Corporate Sponsorships as well)
The Gala website will be changing – updates will follow.
A new meeting for the entire committee to address corporate sponsorships is a must. An invitation will be going out on Monday, 9.28.
The literature and documents that we give to companies regarding Corporate Sponsorships will be updated and we discussed some changes. Updates will follow.
A timeline needs to be created for the entire Gala process in order of priority. A flow chart that will give us a focus and keep the process on track. Elizabeth should love this visual…J.
In closing, I think it is important to create an agenda as to what we want to achieve with the corporate sponsorships, engage the committee and have people take ownership and responsibility. I also think that we should monitor the progress perhaps with a spreadsheet outlining contacts, outcomes, etc. We will probably have to be persistent in our approach until we can talk/meet with the decision maker for each company that we are targeting. Perhaps we can even devise a script which each person can use when they are contacting each company by phone. Prepared literature can also be used after the initial conversation for their review. I also like the visual idea that we discussed in the meeting (adding pictures) as that gives a much more personal touch and can convey so much information and engage our target audience on an emotional level.
Sorry if this seems like a stream of consciousness, but I’m a little tired! Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!
