You may recall our paths last crossed when the Autism Society of Northern Virginia hosted a WMILG meeting on neurodiversity in the workplace at our office. My reason for contacting you today is to let you know our chapter's 8th annual Arts for Autism gala and runway fashion show (
https://www.crowdrise.com/artsforautism) is set for Saturday, November 4 at the Alexandria Westin.
This unique event enlists from the local fashion community to post their pictures on the Arts for Autism website and promote it to friends and family seeking their donations and support for their walks down the runway. Local boutiques and designers dress the model-fundraisers in their finest apparel, and hair and make-up artists are on hand to help the model-fundraisers look their best. So far we have 28 model-fundraisers on board, and WUSA chief meteorologist Topper Shutt has agreed to serve as emcee.
I've attached information on ways Northrop Grumman might support the event, and I'm hoping you might consider helping us out. It's a great opportunity to showcase your brand and your commitment to building an inclusive workplace. Past gala sponsors have included Goodyear, Merrill Lynch, United Healthcare, Volkswagen, and a number of local businesses with ties to the autism community.
I know we're several months out, but at least wanted to get on your radar, plus if you sign up early you'll immediately begin gaining exposure as a gala supporter. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. I'll be back in touch...until then, enjoy your summer!
Best,
Don Shipley
