PACIFIC REPERTORY THEATRE RECEIVES FUNDING IN SUPPORT OF THE SCHOOL OF DRAMATIC ARTS

 

 

            August 10, 2009 – Pacific Repertory Theatre announces the receipt of two grants recently in support of its School of Dramatic Arts (SoDA). 

 

            The William McCaskey Chapman & Adaline Dinsmore Chapman Foundation granted $5,000 and The Pebble Beach Company Foundation awarded the theatre $3,000.

 

            SoDA is the educational wing of the theatre and provides hands-on training in the theatre to young people from throughout Monterey County.  Many of the SoDA students appear in the annual Pac Rep young people’s productions, including the upcoming musical, Oliver!, at Carmel’s outdoor Forest Theater.

 

            Pac Rep, now in its 27^th season, produces bold and daring interpretations of the great plays from the world stage.
