Leah and Verna and Jaymie (me) had a really good talk yesterday - just
a summary of things we talked about:

The Studio - we didn't come up with anything brilliant (yet) but we
did say that we want to rethink what happens in there - so here's your
chance to fantasize - I was thinking to simply do more "technique"
type projects - painting, drawing etc.

Hemphill and ArtQuest doing more collaborations - Leah had a great
idea which would be to do something in depth once a month - part of it
would happen one day at hemphill and the second day would be here -
Leah can ellaborate more since I can't remember what else we said
about that

Turning the Morph It area into a "Gallery Connection" exhibit which
would take some of the things we do in the studio to connect to the
gallery and move it closer to the exhibitions - I kind of like that
idea myself.

I can't remember the other things we talked about - help me refresh my
memory ...

Ok - I have been trying to get my account the way I want it. I am
afraid I now have three for this group!
Regarding yesterday - well, we did talk about a lot.

In general, we also discussed playing to peoples' strengths to make AQ
as great as it can be.

Change may not be a bad thing!
We talked about some different ideas for table projects -- or a
different way to do the table project in AQ. Possibly something with
more impact, more interaction which would stay on display for a longer
period. This would eliminate the need to have a new one each week,
but it would be more prep work once a month to make it really
engaging. Possible ideas were a collaborative project of some kind (a
mural? a quilt? a paper quilt? giant splatter painting?) Actually -
i think all of those were my ideas, but please add on anything else!

Another one (regarding the table project) was maybe emphasize a
particular technique (like Jaymie said), or element of art, or master
painter or a painting itself.

I did like the idea of using the Morph It area for a Gallery
Connection Project... the proximity makes more sense. This project
might also change monthly or with the exhibit change. Also, it faces
into the Atrium and a special sign might be placed in the window? But
where does Morph it go? Maybe it could be brought back a few times
during the year.

Let me keep thinking about the collaboration AQ/Hemphill thing. I
think we will come up with something good on this, but it will
probably take some time. Maybe by fall?

I like the signage idea -

as for morph it - I've always wanted a set of stackable bins on wheels
- i'm going to see if i can find anything on the web - i know exactly
what i want it to look like and I think i've seen something before.

You can definitely find this. I saw them when I was shopping for bins
for me. (they just came in this week! -- have to unpack them)
