April 9, 2007 Hemphill Studio - Art Discovery

Mario inspired me to do comics in the Hemphill studio. Stephanie was
there and she never wants to do the project the way you intended. She
came up with characters and a plot but she didn't want to draw, so she
decided to write a play instead. She wrote a script and then we
(stephanie, me and a volunteer) made masks for the characters. We then
acted it out by passing the script around (and of course we wore our
masks.) Then she decided that she needed to add on to it - so she
wrote more and we acted it out again. As crazy as Stephanie makes me -
she really is a poster child for the program at Hemphill. I would love
for art discovery time to be ten Stephanies (without the occasional
attitude.) I'm going to miss her.

I will miss her too. I figured as soon as I thought she had moved,
she would show up! But apparently, they are still moving?
anyway - i wondered what all that was in teh studio this morning!

Was it a mess? When I left there was a family working in there - that
may be what it was.
