Impresii din metroul parizian
Ce poate fi mai fara sens decat o perspectiva
sparta, gresita adesea, mai lipsit de orice conotatie politica, sociala,
emotionala (vai, atat de contemporan!) decat niste linii de fuga necolorate?
Lumina, daca traverseaza o prisma, o zona incarcata de umiditate se coloreaza,
se desface in, curcubeul ROGVAIV. Albul, in schimb respinge lumina.
Inaintez prin culoarele inguste cu goluri
murdare, standuri comerciale si asist la agitatia angoasanta a furnicarului de
oameni. Peste tot sunt panouri publicitare, un bazar general, o curte a
miracolelor din zilele noastre tare in culori, stridenta, urata dar vitala.
Un escalator care coboara, un trotuar rulant la
Montparnasse, o colonada luminata alb, neutru si violent, vital, o orchestra de
ucraineni care intotdeauna canta in acelasi loc la Châtelet, o echipa de
politisti cu alura sportiva , elastici ca niste feline agresive cu gri-griuri
atarnate la centura, un tigan acordeonist care ar fi putut fi talentat daca nu
ar fi fost atat de sarac, de blazat; iata o mica omenire care alerga ametitor
in toate partile.
Ma preocupa acest amestec (dintr-un peisaj
imaginar) facut din linii electrificate, nori si marginile albe ale aripilor de
avion care strabat vazduhul in hurducaielile componentelor din plastic ce se
agita la toate turbulentele deasupra golului instabil. Avion in miscare, linii
de fuga care raman agatate de cer in echilibre schimbatoare, incordari de nervi
si semnul crucii facut cu limba in gura.
Klee impinge punctul in linie, linia in plan,
planul devine spatiu in trei dimensiuni, iar eu caut sensuri acolo unde nu se
mai vede nimic, unde desenul este urma alba a luminii pe peretele din faianta
alba. Vad margini de zid acolo unde nu sunt, trepte multe la statia de metrou
Abbesses, patul unui om al strazii si culoare inguste fara de capat, marginea
aripii unui avion
Ideile imi vin brusc in contact cu mediul,
uneori, fara semnal, uneori din disperare. Nu caut, nu ma "pun pe
ganduri", nu incerc sa spun vreun adevar sau sa punctez realitatea.
Linii albe pe fundal alb - douazeci de desene
cusute pe hartie e raspunsul in urma contactului meu cotidian cu geografiile
punctuale care ma inconjoara.
Referintele mele sunt culese din amintiri,
Olympia cea alba pe un cearseaf la fel de alb a lui Manet, David Hockney si
fotomontajele lui in care distruge perspectivele clasice, rulourile vechi
chinezesti in care artistul urmareste stari, gesturi si distorzioneaza liniile
de fuga, filmele Neo Realismului italian.

ALERT studio este un proiect independent
initiat de Raluca Ilaria Demetrescu, Alina Buga si Catalin Burcea cu scopul de
a crea o platforma de cercetare si
promovare a productiei artistice contemporane. Asumandu-si functia de spatiu
laborator, Alert Studio propune o intalnire intre artisti, idei, directii si
discursuri din zone conceptuale si spatii culturale diferite. Sunt importante
si apreciate gandirea critica si interogatia ca metode de cercetare a
contextului cultural-artistic contemporan.
ALERT studio functioneaza ca o galerie de
proiect, conectand trei directii de explorare artistica - PINK | RED | WHITE -
intr-un singur spatiu. Insa aceste coordonate nu inseamna indexare, restrictie
si etichetare. Ele se pot intersecta si nuanta, pot oricand dialoga si declansa
dezbateri.

Chapter 1
Impressions of the
parisian Subway
What can it be
more sensesless than a broken, often wrong persective, more lacked of any
political, social or even emotional connotation (oh, so contemporary!) than
some non coloured perspective lines? If the light passes
through a prism, an area charged with moisture stains dyeds, it opens in the
rainbow ROYGBIV. White, instead rejects the light.
I'm geting on
through narrow aisles full of dirty gaps, trade stands and I'm
witnessing the anxious turmoil of people's formicary. There are everywhere advertising
billboards, a general bazaar, a nowadays court of miracles strong in colours,
harsh, ugly but vital.
A getting down escalator,
a travelator at Montparnasse, a white, violent illuminated colonnade, an
Ukrainians orchestra who is allways playing in the same place at Châtelet subway
station, sporty, supple looking policemen, with hanging gri-gris on their belts,
a Gypsy acordeonist which could have been talented if he hadn't been so poor,
so surfaited, a small humanity raning all over the place.
I'm preocupied
by this mixture ( from an imaginary landscape) made by electrified tracks,
clouds, the white edges of an airplane wings that go through the heavens in a big
noise produced by the plastic components which are shaking at all turbulancies above the unstable abyss. Moving airplane,
landscape lines that remained hooked to heaven in changing balances, nervous tensions
and signing crosses with the tongue in the mouth.
Klee pushes the
point in the line, the line in a plan, the plan becomes three dimensional and
I'm searching senses where nothing is to be seen, where the drawing is the
white trace of the light on the white tiled wall. I see wall edges where they
are not, a lot of steps at Abbesses underground station, a homless's bed and
narrow, no ending corridors, the final line of an airplane wing.
The ideas are
coming suddenly into contact with the environment, sometimes with no signal at
all, sometimes with despair. I'm not searching, I'm not trying to say any truth
or to emphasise the reality.
White lines on
a white background - twenty sewn drawings is the answer for my daily routine meeting
with the specific common geographies who are surrounding me. I collect the
references in my memories, the White Olympia on the very white blanket by Manet,
David Hockney's photomontages where he destroyes the classical perspective, the
ancient chinese rolls in which the artist follows gestures and states of mind
and disturbs the perpective lines, the Italian Neorealism movies.

ALERT studio is an independent project
initiated by Raluca Demetrescu Alina Buga and Catalin Burcea in order to create
a platform of research and promotion of contemporary artistic production.
Taking on the function of alaboratory space, Studio Alert proposes a meeting
between artists, ideas, directions and speeches from different areas of conceptual
and cultural spaces. Critical thinking and interrogation are important and
valued as research methods in the contemporary cultural and artistic field.
ALERT studio stands as a gallery project,
connecting three areas of artistic exploration - PINK | RED | WHITE - into one
space. But these coordinates do not mean indexing, labeling and restriction.
They may intersect, combine in new shades, and may always communicate and
trigger debates.
